Wilsonia was founded on the 08th of July 1966 by Rev. and Mrs. H.R. Wilson in their Bungalow. The school got its name from the name of the Bungalow ‘Wilsonia’. It is located in Civil Lines and has become an important landmark of the city.
Over four decades since its inception, Wilsonia still holds the privilege of being the city’s most reputed institution. The school has expanded tremendously during the years and now has an identity of a split unit system with Five separate buildings and a Degree College. A brief introduction to each is as follows:-

Primary & Girls’ School
The oldest building of the Group now nestles the Primary & Girls’ section of Wisonia. A need was seen through the opinion of the townsfolk to have a separate Girls’ branch for students of classes I to XII. Hence the inception of the Primary and Girls’ branch in 1988. The primary section has a separate portion for Nursery and Kindergarten fully equipped with lots of toys and slides and other playing equipment. The Nursery and Kindergarten Classes have their own T.Vs for Multi media education. The School sincerely believes in providing exposure to the students to modern methods of teaching. The colourful painted walls and classroom creates a lively atmosphere for young students who have just started to experience school life. The newly renovated Computer Lab and Girls’ Classrooms also adds luster to this branch.
Virginia Block
The group’s second building was constructed in 1988 and was named after the co-founder Mrs. Virginia Wilson. This is now the boys’ section of the school from classes V to XII. The total strength of this branch alone being nearly 1000 students. The exceptional features of this branch include a vast library, a fully equipped computer department with facilities including multi-media studies, Internet and e-mail connections, LCD TV Room, a badminton, volleyball and basketball court.
Virginia Block is also the Head office of the group. The Group Director’s office, The Accounts Office and Human Resources Department are located in this branch. Co-ordination of the whole group is done from Virginia Block.
Wilsonia Scholars’ Home
Wilsonia Scholars’ Home is situated on National Highway – 24, Delhi Road, about 11 kms away from Virginia Block near Pakbara. This school is affiliated to CBSE Board, Classes are held from Nursery to X. This branch has the largest campus, spreading across an area of 15 bighas of land. Landscaping is similar to that of a farmhouse with birdcages, rose and gladioli gardens and clusters of palm trees etc. The branch has its own cricket field, play ground, basketball, tennis, volleyball and badminton courts. The scenic view of fields and the serene atmosphere creates a very conducive atmosphere for learning.
The Group’s hostel is also located in Scholars’ Home. The hostel provides all the amenities required for a residential set up i.e Dormitories, Dining Hall, recreation room and study Hall. More information is available in the Hostel Prospectus.

Wilsonia is proud of its alumni who have done well in life. Students who have passed out from here are now established Doctors, Engineers, Exporters, Defence Personnel, Corporate Executives, Educationists, Lawyers, Accountants, Civil Servants etc. serving both in India and abroad.
